Blessing A Community-Annual Toys for Tots |
| |
On December 21st, Deliverance opened its doors to help the community by administering our annual Toys for the Tots. The event was spearheaded by First Lady Doris Carney who always has a heart to help those in need. Volunteers from Deliverance and area churches worked together to assist all who came. The doors opened at 10 AM where recipients were received by welcoming helpers and inspirational music. The volunteers worked with each person on an individual basis, ensuring their needs were met. Throughout the day, recipients gave heartwarming testimonies of how the toys would allow their children to have something on Christmas day. For Deliverance, the day represented doing God's work and being a beacon of light to someone during the Christmas season.

On December 18th, a Candlelight March was held. The program was organized and carried out by our mothers of the church. The theme was centered around being salt of the earth and light to the world. The program included a march, tribute, and a powerful word delivered by Dr. Hattie Lofton. The mothers carry out this annual event to raise funds to help a family in need during the Christmas season.

Angier Christmas Parade |
On December 3, 2011 our Youth department participated in the Angier Christmas Parade. Our theme was "Gifts from God" where we outlined just a few gifts to include love, joy, peace, hope, faith, etc. Our ultimate gifts were Jesus and the free gift of salvation. Our main mission was to evangelize during this season, reiterating that Jesus is whom we celebrate. Many of our youth along with parents rode the float displaying gifts. Our teens walked alongside handing out tokens of love that relayed to each parade participant that they were truly a "Gift from God." It was an awesome experience for all. |
