Deliverance Church was established in September of 1988 under the leadership of our founder and Pastor, Bishop S. L. and Co-Pastor Doris Carney with our first service held at their home. Our First Lady suggested the church name, Deliverance. As time passed, we realized that the services were too large to continue in their home. It was at this time we moved into the Fuquay community building. After many months of praising God in this building, we were blessed to move to a storefront on Main Street in Fuquay. January 1st 1994, still praising God and keeping the vision, it became a reality when we were blessed again by being able to build our present place of praise and worship. Still keeping the vision, God blessed once more by allowing us to build and complete our new fellowship hall and parking lot.
Deliverance Church is greatly blessed to have the following active auxiliaries. The Men and Women Fellowships; Usher Board; First Sunday Choir; Young Adult Choir; Gospel Chorus; Male Chorus; Praise Team; Pastor's Aid; Co-Pastor's Aid; Mothers Board; Deacon Board; Trustee Board; Missions Department; Nursing Home/Hospital Ministry; Missionary Department; CD/Tape Ministry; Visitation Committee; Junior Missionary Department; Youth Fellowship; Hospitality Committee; Birthday/Anniversary; Ministry in Music; Members Retention Committee; and Food Pantry.
In the Year 2006, God has added the following new auxiliaries. Praise Team II; Step Team; Dance Team; Theatrical Department; CD Video Ministry.
The Lord is elevating His Leaders again this year with three new Deacons - Deacon Raymond Devon, Deacon M. Lundy and Deacon Harvey Speller; one new Mother - Mother Kay Sawyer; two new ministers - Evangelist Pamela Edwards, the newly appointed Jr. Pastor; and Minister Jackie Vandross.
2006 produced a baby -- Bishop Carney's vision "The Kingdom Now Fellowship". The Fellowship has grown to 13 churches with Bishop Carney as the presiding prelate. Shortly after Homecoming 2005, the Lord blessed Bishop Carney to become the newest member of Angier's political realm as he was elected Commissioner for the Town of Angier.
We continue to lead men and women to Christ by example and dedication to the cause of Kingdom building. Many have been saved, delivered and set free through this harvest time ministry, and we are excited about the horizon that God is directing us to, through word ministry and a caring attitude.
As the light continues to shine, we are going forward as God leads our Leaders and as we follow, we know we will reach our goal.
