Deliverance Church was established in September of 1988 under the leadership of its founder and Pastor, Bishop S. L. and Co-Pastor Doris Carney. The first service was held at the Carney home. First Lady Carney suggested the church name, Deliverance. As time passed, the services were too large to continue in the founders' home. It was at that time Deliverance moved into a community building in Fuquay Varina NC. After numerous months of praising God in the location, the congregation began having service in a storefront on Main Street in Fuquay Varina, NC. On January 1, 1994, God's vision manifested in the form of Deliverance's present place of worship. Since that time a fellowship hall and parking lot has been added.
Under the direction of Bishop & Co-Pastor Carney, Deliverance Church has had a number of ministries to include: Men's & Women's Fellowship, Usher Board, First Sunday Choir, Young Adult Choir, Gospel Chorus, Male Chorus, Praise Team, Pastor's Aid, Co-Pastor's Aid, Mothers Board, Deacon Board, Trustee Board, Missions Department, Nursing Home/Hospital Ministry, Missionary Department, CD/Tape Ministry, Visitation Committee, Junior Missionary Department, Youth Fellowship, Hospitality Committee, Birthday/Anniversary, Ministry in Music, Members Retention Committee, Food Pantry, Praise Team II; Step Team; Dance Team; Theatrical Department; CD Video Ministry.
Bishop Carney's vision "The Kingdom Now Fellowship" was produced in 2006. The Fellowship has grown to 13 churches with Bishop Carney as the presiding prelate. Shortly after Homecoming 2005, the Lord blessed Bishop Carney to become the newest member of Angier's political realm as he was elected Commissioner for the Town of Angier. He served in this position for over 5 years.
We continue to lead men and women to Christ by example and dedication to the cause of Kingdom building. Many have been saved, delivered and set free through this harvest time ministry, and we are excited about the horizon that God is directing us to, through word ministry and a caring attitude.
